Tabletop Writers Diversity Challenge – Caption This

We are really excited to be participating in the Tabletop Writers Guild Diversity Initiative Challenge. This post is our response to the Week 4 Challenge: Captions!

The Challenge: Caption these photos

This week’s challenge was to provide brief captions to a provided list of photos.

OK, no problem. We play a lot of games, so we’ll recognize all the pieces, and we can come up with something relatable and descriptive.

*Squints at photos*

OK, we have played none of these games. What are the odds? We recognize a few, but we don’t want to try to muddle through descriptions of games we haven’t yet played (though there are some that seem great on the list).

So we’re taking a different approach. Enjoy our 5-panel caption comic (that definitely does not draw inspiration from a certain excellent Disney movie) using prompt photos from the challenge.

Evil Overlord: “At last, there is only one who can stop us now. Catpeople, bring me the Chosen One!”
Catperson #1: "We have located the Chosen One!"
Catperson #2: “Target acquired, sir. We are en route to the Evil Lair”
Evil Overlord: “The Chosen One must be stripped of power! Commence the ritual!” **Ritualistic chanting**
Evil Overlord: “A llama? He's supposed to be DEAD!"

And that concludes our Caption This story hour. Tune in next time for more llama-related hijinks.

*Yes, we know Altiplano involves alpacas, not llamas. Llamas are cool and Emily insisted on quoting “The Emperor’s New Groove”.
